Seattle: The city of rain, seafood & glass

Being a Portland Native has given many the assumption that one may venture to Seattle quite often. Truth of the matter is that I have been there a mere three times in my life. On that note, this last time was probably the most magical for me!

Making the trek up to Seattle I had only one mission in mind- BE A TOURIST. Yes the notion that I wanted to do those obnoxious touristy things was a bit much at first. Yet here is the real secret, tourist are usually doing it right! That's really when you see the true magic of cities. So in Portland fashion I strapped up, got my Pendleton hat, fur lined coat & bar tee ready to bust a move.

First event was drinking mimosa's for brunch and listening to some good tunes overlooking Lake Union. My portland peeps and I decided that you can't go wrong with a little Chihuly Glass to start the excitement. Even if I could've guessed that wonder I would see, I still wouldn't be ready for what I saw. Oh the things that this man created from glass! It's quite astonishing and very admirable. I felt like a total kid at a candy shop, minus the sticky fingers. I believe my photos didn't do this place justice.

Next up was beers and some good ol' seafood at Pikes Place. It never gets old walking through that market, you may see the same fruits or fishes from different vendors, but the energies that flow through that place are utterly unique. It's a hub that gets everyone together and promotes nothing but good vibes.

After that we got an uber as the gust of winds near the water picked up. My dear friend Spencer aka Mr.Protein Shake lives in Seattle so we were able to have a legit pre-funk at his spot. Now this last event was like nothing I have ever been to. It was a Disco Party that is held in an old Train cart. Doesn't get more trippy than that! The smoke machines were going, red and purple lights fluttering, bell bottoms, oversized glasses and afros were vibin'. This was probably the best and only way to end our day.

All I can say is, Seattle I will see you sooner than later...
